The Talent Show Registration Opens 3/8/24.
Group performances and variety acts are encouraged. Video Audition Submissions Required. Both groups will perform on April 194th during school hours at an assembly and again in the evening for families and friends. The evening performance will be in the MPR from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

An evening of Art & Culture! Little Cedars celebrates our student's artwork through the Art Docent Program, as well as Cultural Displays hosted by Little Cedars families. Join us for Culture, Art and refreshments.

Classroom volunteers teach a specific artist or painting and lead the children in an art project once a month. Projects are displayed in the hallway monthly and then at the Celebration of the Arts at the end of the year. Celebration of the Arts usually takes place one evening in May celebrating the Art Docent program and highlighting the students' art work. Volunteers will help set up and clean up that evening and work with the Art Docent coordinators as needed.

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.
Students create original works of art in response to a theme. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted.

The Science Docent program is PTA funded and volunteer-run. The goal is to engage all levels of students and encourage curiosity of the scientific process.
Volunteers will deliver pre-planned science lessons in classrooms. No experience is needed to volunteer! Contact your teacher to let them know you'd like to be a Science Docent!

Little Cedar's annual Science Fair will be held on Friday February 28, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room.
Students are encouraged to create a science project to display during the school day and at night. Volunteers are needed for advertising and publications, student signup, placement and awards, as well as general setup and takedown.

This committee plans & coordinates the meals for our staff & teachers during conference week in October and March. They will set up a sign-up list for volunteers to bring in food and oversee the setup of this.
Volunteers will create treat bags for the end of the semester in January. This committee will also help coordinate Staff Appreciation Week in May. (Including deciding the theme and creating sign-ups for volunteers to donate items/meals.)

Week Before School Starts
Students & families, come meet your new teachers and see your classroom!
Families will be divided into two sessions (Last names A-L or M-Z) to minimize the crowded parking situation. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies so that they can be put away in their classrooms. PTA volunteers will be on-site so you can join PTA, volunteer for events, purchase yearbooks and spirit wear, and ask questions about the new school year.

This committee produces an annual Little Cedars yearbook available for purchase by students and staff. (Delivered in June.) The chairs and committee work to plan and design the yearbook.
The yearbook features every class, specialist, and school group. It also highlights other activities that occur during the school year. Several volunteers who are comfortable with a camera are needed to photograph various school-wide and grade-level activities throughout the year. |

The Apex Fun Run! Students learn lasting leadership lessons at assemblies & in class visits and receive encouragement and creative rewards for daily challenges. This is always a very successful fund raiser and we appreciate the generosity of our Little Cedars Community!
